In a wild last regular season weekend in volleyball for the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, eight teams ultimately punched their ticket to the NJCAA Regional post-season.
Heading into the last Divisional matches on the MCAC slate, several scenarios were possible in the Southern Division, with each of the four post-season slots and hosting possibilities up for grabs among five teams. In the Northern Division, Central Lakes perfect run through the Conference schedule had long-ago locked up the right to host, but a handful of teams found themselves jostling for position for the remaining three spots.
The Northern Division concluded with Central Lakes College as the runaway first seed, followed by Northland CTC at #2, Hibbing Community College in the #3 spot and Itasca Community College at #4. As the top seed, Central Lakes College will host the Region XIIIB Tournament in Brainerd on November 3rd and 4th. Official NJCAA Region match-ups, times and site logistics will be posted Monday, October 30th.
In the turbulent Southern Division, St. Cloud Technical & Community College outlasted a closely contested race, to finish in the top seed - and with it - the right to host the NJCAA Region XIII A tournament. Ridgewater College finished in the #2 role, followed by Rochester CTC at #3 and Minnesota West at #4. As the top seed, SCTCC will host the Region XIIIA Tournament in St. Cloud on November 3rd and 4th. Official NJCAA Region match-ups, times and site logistics will be posted Monday, October 30th.
