Rainy River brings .500 record back to Minnesota

Rochester, Mn:

The Rainy River Community College baseball team recently completed their spring trip, bringing home a 4-4 record from the first action of 2017.  The Voyageurs tallied wins over Schenectdy County CC, splitting a double header with Northern Essex CC and dropping two games to Rowan College at Burlington County.

At the plate, Rainy River is hitting .254, with almost identical .380 on base and .381 slugging percentages.  They have hit 3 home runs on the young season, and scored an even 50 runs so far this season.   Two Voyageurs are hitting over .400, with Kevin Alicea (.429) and Easton Davis (.438) hoping to keep the hot bats going as they return to Minnesota.

On the mound, Jamie Garcia leads the team with 10 innings pitched and two wins.  Brandon Madril and Edwin Lozada both have picked up victories on the year as well.

Rainy River's next action will come at Minnesota West in Worthington, with two double-headers this weekend.
