MCAC Soccer Athletes of the Week: Week of September 12 - 18

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of September 12 - 18. 

Lake Superior College goalkeeper, Therese Ganuucci, has been named the Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week after shutting out #5 Rochester Community & Technical College and saving 14 shots on goal in 90 minutes of action. Icehawks teammate Wendy Sanchez, center defense, earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award preventing two goals from being scored in her team's first conference win of the season on Saturday.  Lydia Steinbauer, forward for the Icehawks, picked up the week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award after scoring the lone goal in the win over #5 RCTC. 

Riverland Community College outside back, Daliso Chitulangoma, earns the MCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week.  Chitulangoma scored two goals against Dakota County Technical College to secure a 3-2 win for the Blue Devils.
