MCAC Football Playoff Matchups Set for Quarterfinal Round

Following an exciting regular season of Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Football when five different teams all saw time in the NJCAA national rankings, the 2022 MCAC Football Playoffs are set to begin on Sunday, October 23. Over the next three weekends, MCAC teams will battle it out in a single-elimination tournament culminating in the Region 13 Championship on November 6 at St. Cloud State University.

With an undefeated record (8-0 overall, 6-0 MCAC), the #1 ranked team in the nation and the tournament's #1 seeded Minnesota State Community & Technical College will receive a bye in the opening round.  They will host the winner of the #4 vs. #5 game on Sunday, October 30.

North Dakota State College of Science is the #2 seed in the playoffs and nationally ranked #3 after a strong 6-1 season and 5-1 record in MCAC play.  They will host the 7th seeded Minnesota North College - Vermilion Ironmen, who finished with a 0-4 overall record and 0-4 in the MCAC.

Central Lakes College earned the #3 seed in this year's tournament, posting a 3-3 overall record and 2-3 record in the MCAC.  The Raiders will host the #6 seeded Minnesota West Community & Technical College BlueJays in Sunday's matchup.

Rochester Community and Technical College picks up the #4 seed with a 4-4 overall record and 3-3 record in the MCAC.  The Yellowjackets will host the 5th seeded Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range Norse who are 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the MCAC.

All MCAC playoff games are played at the highest seeded team in the pairing.  Game times are at 1:30 PM unless otherwise noted on the teams' schedules.

Sunday, October 23 - Quarterfinals
Game 1: #7 Minnesota North College - Vermilion at #2 North Dakota State College of Science (2:30 PM)
Game 2: #6 Minnesota West Community & Technical College at #3 Central Lakes College (1:30 PM)
Game 3: #5 Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range at #4 Rochester Community & Technical College (1:30 PM)
 
Sunday, October 31 - Semifinals
Game 4:  Winner of Game 3 at Minnesota State Community & Technical College
Game 5:  Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 at highest remaining seed
 
Sunday, November 7 - Championship
Championship Game: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner at St. Cloud State University
