MCAC Volleyball Teams Prepare for Region 13 Tournament Action

Following a very competitive Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Volleyball regular season, the field is set for the Region 13 tournaments which begin on Friday, October 28.

The Region 13A and Region 13B Tournaments are each represented by two MCAC North Division teams and two MCAC South Division teams. 

Century College claimed the #1 seed in the South Division after tying in the standings with Minnesota State Community & Technical College, each at 14-2 in conference play. Century won the head-to-head tiebreaker. Minnesota State Community & Technical College is the #2 seed in the South, with Rochester Community & Technical College at 13-3 in MCAC action claiming the South #3 seed and St. Cloud Technical and Community College picking up the South #4 seed with their 9-7 conference record.

Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range is the North Division #1 seed after a stellar year in which the Norse went 13-3 in conference play. Minnesota North College - Itasca and Northland Community & Technical College each finished with a 12-4 record, and after the tiebreakers were applied, Itasca was named the #2 seed from the North while Northland will be the #3 seed.  Central Lakes College is the #4 seed from the North as they finished the MCAC regular season at 11-5.

 

Century College will host the Region 13A Tournament on Friday and Saturday in White Bear Lake, MN.

Region 13A Tournament Schedule:

Friday, October 28th

Game 1: 6:00 PM - North #4 Central Lakes College vs. South #1 Century College

Game 2: 8:00 PM - South #3 Rochester Community & Technical College vs. North #2 Minnesota North College - Itasca

Saturday, October 29th

Championship: 12:00 PM - winner of Game 1 vs. winner of Game 2

The winner of the tournament advances to the NJCAA DIII Championship on November 10 - 12 in Rochester, MN.

 

Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range will host the Region 13B Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Virginia, MN.

Friday, October 28th

Game 1: 6:00 PM - South #4 St. Cloud Technical & Community College vs. North #1 Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range

Game 2: 8:00 PM - North #3 Northland Community & Technical College vs. South #2 Minnesota State Community & Technical College

Saturday, October 29th

Championship: 1:00 PM - winner of Game 1 vs. winner of game 2

The winner of the tournament also advances to the NJCAA DIII Championship on November 10 - 12 in Rochester, MN.
