Claudy Zau Earns Region 13 Men's Soccer Most Valuable Player; All-Region 13 Team Announced

Rochester, MN -

The 9-member All-Region 13 Men's Soccer Team has been announced for the Fall 2022 season, and Anoka-Ramsey Community College's freshman forward, Claudy Zau, was named the Most Valuable Player.  He had already earned the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Player-of-the-Year honor.  Qassim Ilmi, head coach for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, has been named the Region 13 Men's Soccer Coach-of-the-Year as well.

Zau started all 13 games for the Golden Rams scoring 11 goals and assisting on 1 this season.  He is credited with 23 points on the season and scored on nearly half of the shots he took.  Coach Ilmi put together a team that went 11-2-1 this season and 8-0 in MCAC play.  He led his Golden Ram team into the Midwest District Championships where they were defeated by Harper College to end the season.  

Anoka-Ramsey won the MCAC and Region 13 title this season, and along with Zau, the Golden Rams placed three additional athletes on the All-Region 13 Team.

Riverland Community College, who finished their season in the Region 13 title game, had three athletes make the All-Region 13 Team; while Alexandria College and Lake Superior College each had one athlete make the esteemed list.
