MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of February 27 - March 5

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of February 27 - March 5.

Hunter Vikemyr, right-handed pitcher for Riverland Community College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In 6 innings of work, Vikemyr pitched a no-hitter against Kansas Wesleyan, striking out 12 and walking 7,  He also went 7 for 17 from the plate with a triple, 5 RBI, 2 walks, and a stolen base.  Rochester Community & Technical College right fielder/first baseman, Rees Campanale, went 10 for 20 from the plate with a home run and 4 doubles during the week. Campanale hit .500 and had 6 RBI, 5 runs, 5 walks and a stolen base to pick up this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College right-handed pitcher, Christian Lessman, earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. Lessman threw 7 innings, giving up only 1 earned run and 3 hits while striking out 12.  Lessman's teammate, Sam Holthaus, catcher for the Cyclones, earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.  Holthaus hit .412 going 7 for 17 with a double and 2 home runs.  He also had 9 RBI, 5 runs, and 5 walks, while compiling a .600 on-base percentage.

Marcus Haire, right-handed pitcher for MNC-Vermilion, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Haire picked up his first collegiate win, pitching 3 innings and giving up only 1 earned run on 3 hits.  He also struck out 4 while walking only 1 batter in the Ironhawks 8-7 win over Western Technical College.    Evan Radovich, catcher for MNC-Mesabi Range, hit .500 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI to earn the MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.  He went 5 for 10 from the plate and walked twice, and had a .700 slugging percentage.
