MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of March 13-19

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 13 - 19.

There were no nominations for this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week or MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week awards.

Minnesota State Community & Technical College right-handed pitcher, Brett Engelmeyer, earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his one start, which was a complete game, Engelmeyer gave up only 1 earned run and scattered 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking only 1. He picked up his second win of the season.  Jeremy Brown, first baseman for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.  Brown hit .474 on the week, going 18 for 38.  He had 5 doubles, a triple, and a home run, with 18 RBI and 6 runs. 

Kyle Rutherford, left-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Itasca, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Rutherford threw 10 innings of shutout ball, giving up 5 hits with no runs and striking out 12.  His two wins helped cap off a 4-1 week for the Vikings.  Shane Erickson, DH/1B/C for Minnesota North College - Rainy River, hit .480 going 12 for 25 with 7 doubles and 2 home runs.  He added 16 RBI and 13 runs, while walking 5 times and being hit by a pitch 3 times, to earn the MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
