MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of May 8-14

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of May 8-14.

Century College left-handed pitcher, Kaden Pfeffer, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Pfeffer threw a perfect game in the opening round of the Region 13 Tournament. On the mound for 5 innings, Pfeffer struck out 8 without giving up a hit, run, or walk to help his team get the 15-0 win over North Dakota State College of Science.  Century College first baseman and catcher, Brock Larsen, went 7 for 9 from the plate, hitting .778 with a double and a home run. Larsen had 8 RBI and scored 5 runs, while walking twice in his three games during the week, to earn the MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.

Alexandria Technical & Community College left-handed pitcher, Jalen Vorpahl, earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor.  Vorpahl went 1-0 in his one start and made an appearance in another game, throwing a total of eight innings without giving up a run. He only allowed 4 hits and 2 walks and struck out 11 batters as he improved his overall record to 4-1.  Brock Woitalla, shortstop for St. Cloud Technical & Community College, earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.  Woitalla hit .471, going 8 for 17 at the plate. He hit 3 doubles and a triple, with 5 RBI and a walk. Woitalla also scored 4 runs and had two 3-hit games, staving off elimination for the Cyclones and helping them advance to the district tournament.

There were no nominations for this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week or MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
