MCAC Soccer Athletes of the Week: Week of September 25 - October 1

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of September 25 - October 1.

Rochester Community and Technical College goalkeeper Tayea Popillion earned the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award by capturing two more shutouts. Popillion saved four shots in 180 minutes of action. Teammate Keely Troup captained a defense that limited opponents to 4 shots on goal without scoring to earn the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Mackenzie Polson, forward for RCTC, scored three goals in her 12 shots on goal, and added an assist, last week to earn the week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award.

Lake Superior College goalkeeper, Kayden Rengo, earned the MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor after saving 15 of the 17 shots taken on goal in his 180 minutes of play.  There were no nominations for the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-WeekBuoy Lia, forward for Riverland Community College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honor after scoring two goals in his two shots on goal to help the Blue Devils secure a 2-2 tie with Minnesota West.
