Riverland's Diego Prada Named Region 13 Men's Soccer MVP; Spaeth Earns Coach of the Year Honor

Rochester, MN -

The 10-member All-Region 13 Men's Soccer Team has been announced for the Fall 2023 season, and Riverland Community College's freshman defender, Diego Prada, was named the Most Valuable Player.  Frank Spaeth, head coach for Riverland Community College, has been named the Region 13 Men's Soccer Coach-of-the-Year as well.

Prada started 17 games for the Blue Devils on the back line, scoring 2 goals, with one being a game-winner and assisting on 1 goal this season. He anchored a defense that gave up only 26 goals on the season, allowing 1.35 goals per game. Coach Spaeth led his team to an 8-8-3 overall record and 4-3-1 in MCAC play. The Blue Devil's claimed the Region 13 title and played Harper College to a draw in the Midwest District Championship Game, ultimately losing on penalty kicks.   

Along with Prada, Riverland Community College placed three additional athletes on the All-Region 13 Team. Anoka-Ramsey Community College, who finished as runner-up in the Region 13 Tournament, placed three players on the All-Region 13 Team, while Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Alexandria Technical and Community College, and Lake Superior College each had one athlete earn their way onto the team.
