MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of March 25-31

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 25-31.

Rees Campanale, a right-handed pitcher for Rochester Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Campanale got the start in his one appearance during the week and picked up a win. Throwing a complete seven-inning game, he gave up only one earned run on three hits, and he struck out ten batters. Ashton Wolf, second baseman for Riverland Community College, hit .786 during the week, going 11 for 14 with two doubles and a triple. Wolf drove in six runs, scored eight runs, walked twice, and stole four bases to earn this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.

Alexandria Technical and Community College athletes swept the central division awards this week. Lucas Burgum, a sophomore pitcher for the Legends, threw a complete game six innings, giving up only four hits and one earned run in his win. Burgum struck out 12 batters and walked two, compiling a 1.00 ERA for the week and earning the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor.  Burgum's teammate and outfielder for the Legends, Levi Lampert, went 6 for 14, hitting .429, with a double and a home run. Lampert also drove in six runs, scored seven, walked twice, and stole four bases, helping his team pick up four wins during the week and earning him the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. 

Parker Coach, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Vermilion, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Coach earned a win in his one appearance, throwing 5-1/3 innings of one-hit relief work. He struck out six batters and walked three without giving up a run.  Sweeping the awards for the Ironhawks is Nick Berglund, a centerfielder for Vermilion who went 7 for 13 from the plate, hitting .538 for the week. Berglund had two doubles, an RBI, seven runs scored, three walks, and four stolen bases to earn the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
