MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of April 8-14

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 8-14.

Rees Campanale, a right-handed pitcher for Rochester Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks. Campanale had one starting appearance and picked up the win by throwing a complete seven-inning game without giving up an earned run. He struck out six batters and walked only one while giving up six hits. Seth Nelson, OF/INF for Century College, went 11 for 19 from the plate, hitting .579 with three home runs, including a grand slam to help his team pick up a win over Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Nelson drove in 13 runs and scored eight while walking five times to earn this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.

Alexandria Technical and Community College's left-handed pitcher, Luke Saulters, threw a no-hitter to pick up a win in his one start and earn him this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. Saulters struck out nine batters and walked three over five innings without giving up a hit or a run in the appearance. Alexandria Technical and Community College outfielder Levi Lampert went 10 for 19 from the plate, hitting .526 on the week. With three doubles, three home runs, 12 runs batted in, nine runs scored, five walks, and a stolen base, Lampert earns this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. 

Jayden Anderson, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Rainy River, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Anderson threw a one-hitter over five innings in his one start, giving up no runs and striking out nine. He walked only one batter and averaged 16.2 strikeouts per nine innings. Owen Hindermann, a designated hitter for Minnesota North College - Hibbing, hit .667, going 10 for 15 from the plate and hitting two home runs. Hindermann added four doubles, drove in six runs, scored eight runs, and walked once to earn the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
