As regular season competition in men's basketball around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference winds down, games over the recent week have yielded the most recent MCAC Athletes-of-the-Week.

Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

William Howard

The Performance: 

William Howard turned in an outstanding effort this past week for Mesabi Range College in helping the Norsemen to two upset MCAC Northern Division victories over Hibbing Community College and Northland Community & Technical College, respectively. 

The St. Louis, Missouri product averaged 24 points per contest, grabbed an average of 8.5 RPG and collected nine total steals. The Norse beat the Cardinals at home, 84-81 and then went on the road to deal the Pioneers a 77-64 setback. 

Mesabi Range will conclude their season with games against Lake Superior College and FDLTCC this week.

Jerome Cunningham

The Performance: 

Jerome Cunningham was a force on the boards and on the scoreboard for Rochester Community & Technical College this past week.

The Fridley, Minnesota freshman tallied 56 total points and had 12 rebounds in a pair of key Yellowjacket wins, including a 77-75 defeat of nationally-ranked Riverland Community College.  

Other highlights from Cunningham's weekly stat line include eight assists and five blocked shots.  He was 10-of-17 from the free throw line and 23-of-34 from the field. 

RCTC faces Anoka-Ramsey and Minnesota West this week.
