MCAC Wrestling: Athlete-of-the-Week

As wrestling teams from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference head into the final month of the regular season, a Rochester Community & Technical College student-athlete has earned the MCAC Wrestler-of-the-Week for his efforts on behalf of the Yellowjacket squad.

A dominating 4-0 performance at the MCAC Duals at home in Rochester and a stellar 2-1 outing at the NWCA National Duals in Louisville have led to Jeremiah Colon being selected as the Wrestler-of-the-Week in the MCAC.

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference recognizes an athlete each week in Wrestling; each week, beginning Friday, 11/8, with MCAC honors posted on Facebook and Twitter and the MCAC Wrestling page at: https://www.mcacsports.org/sports/wrest/index

Wrestler-of-the-Week

Jeremiah Colon

Soph. / 174 lb.

Wrestling at the 174lb. weight division, Jeremiah Colon went 2-1 At the NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Ky, Colon earned a 2-1 record, a key part of the runner-up team finish for the Yellowjackets.  Included in his outing was a win over Harper College standout Placide Niyigena Harper, who is currently ranked #8 in the NJCAA.

Colon, from Lake Crystal, Minnesota, kept his strong form going at the MCAC Duals, where he went 4-0 to lead the Yellowjackets to the team championship.  The first-ever MCAC Duals were held at RCTC on January 15.
