Pioneer Swedberg Named to All-Tournament Team

Northland Community & Technical College concluded the 2018 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball season over the weekend, competing in three games held at Rockford, Illinois, on the campus of Rock Valley CollegeNorthland advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament, where they dropped a close 56-50 decision to the host Golden Eagles.  Overall, the Pioneers went 1-2 over the course of three contests, and one NCTC sophomore in particular turned some heads on the court with her performance and was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts.  

Post player  Megan Swedberg, a sophomore from Ogema, Minnesota, was named to the eight-member 2018 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Championship All-Tournament team.  In three games, Swedberg had an impresseive 67 points, 41 rebounds and eight assists, including a 36-point and 20 rebound performance against UConn-Avery Point in her final game for NCTC.  Swedberg was integral part to the Northland run in the NJCAA Region XIIIB State Tournament, where back-to-back wins over Central Lakes College and Hibbing Community College propelled them to the NJCAA national stage. 

Northland concludes it's 2018 season with a 23-7 overall record and a 10-2 mark in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference
